Dear FreshBookers,
Today is a difficult day for FreshBookers everywhere as we announce the broadest set of organizational changes in our history. This means we will be parting ways with approximately 140 FreshBookers across all teams, and at all levels around the world. We have prepared comprehensive packages to care for our impacted employees and support them during this transition.
To the FreshBookers who are leaving us, although our paths are diverging, you are leaving a lasting imprint and will always be an important part of the FreshBooks journey. You will be missed.
The last 18 months have been challenging, and I believe you all deserve to understand why this is happening. A year ago, I made three commitments: to be present, to take action, and to share. These commitments still hold true. I will be hosting a Town Hall tomorrow to share more details with all of you.
We have been traveling on the path to profitability; it is now time to reach the destination. We’re taking a different approach, one that is less tentative and hopeful, but is rather bold and pragmatic. We need to do things differently so we can stand on our own two feet and within our financial means. This is a paradigm shift for the way we work and the company we can create. Practically, it means that our team will be smaller and leaner. We’ve made changes to senior leadership, removed layers to enable speed and agility, combined teams to enhance our customer experience, and empowered decision-making across all levels. We believe these changes will make us more effective as a business.
We are going to get back to basics and focus on what matters most, our customers. This is why today’s changes are necessary. So we can take control of our future, and deliver our mandate: to create a stronger FreshBooks that will deliver for our small business owners, accountants, and all our stakeholders for years to come.
Today is undeniably a difficult day. I believe in the strength of this team and that we will come together to deliver on our mission, to help owners grow. In today’s environment, this mission is more important than ever.
Today we look after each other, tomorrow, we move forward together.
