Mike is the co-founder of FreshBooks, the #1 accounting software in the cloud, designed exclusively for freelancers and growing service-based business owners. Built-in 2003 after he accidentally saved over an invoice, Mike spent 3.5 years growing FreshBooks from his parents’ basement. Since then, over 30 million people have used FreshBooks to save time billing, and collect billions of dollars. A lover of the outdoors, Mike has been bitten so many times it’s rumored he’s the first human to have developed immunity to mosquitoes.

As CEO (Interim) and Chief Customer Officer, Mara leads FreshBooks with a strategic, customer-centric approach. Formerly an executive in the telecommunications industry, Mara brings a powerful blend of data-driven insight, technical skill, and business operations expertise to FreshBooks. One of IBM’s Global Women Leaders in AI, Mara holds an engineering degree in Applied Mathematics and Chemical Engineering, as well as an MBA. Mara is at her happiest in a canoe at the lake with her family.

Stefano is a true global citizen. Hailing from Italy, with a 10-year stop in Canada, Stefano now leads the FreshBooks Product and Technology teams from our Toronto office, where he brings vision, perspective, and a wild roster of experience to the FreshBooks team. Coding since age 8, Stefano holds an advanced degree in software engineering. His resume includes work as a firefighter and EMT, and roles as FreshBooks’ VP of Engineering, as an executive consultant, and as a founder of multiple startups. Truly customer- and team-obsessed, Stefano’s mission is to continuously innovate and focus on a shared product vision that drives all his efforts. In his happiest place, you can find him diving, climbing, coaching the next generation of ski champions, racing motorcycles, and having fun trying to keep up with his 3 young children.

Faye has spent her career building brands and businesses across accounting, logistics, and technology. She brings a track record of successfully scaling businesses from the ground up through a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience. A passionate champion of diversity and inclusion, Faye has led and sponsored employee resource groups, hiring best practices, and other initiatives to create environments that allow their employees to thrive. Outside of work, Faye enjoys exploring Toronto’s best restaurants and playgrounds with her family.
